As part of her policy trust to advancing the welfare of the rural dwellers, a Non Governmental Organization; Marcel Ofomata Foundation has successfully concluded the 2019 August edition of her Free Medical Mission and Women Empowerment with a commitment to continually bringing health and wealth to those in the rural areas.

In his opening remarks during the Free Medical Outreach, the Founder of the Foundation, Dr Amaechi Marcel Ofomata stated that the August Edition of the exercise was intentionally organized to regularize the healthcare services to the women and the children in Isuofia Community, Anambra State and Neighboring states.

Dr Ofomata stated that the Foundation started officially in 2015 with an annual Free Medical Mission, Women Empowerment, Cultural/Attitudinal Reorientation among many other intervention programmes. He pledged on behalf of the Foundation to increase the hosting of the exercises from once to twice a year in January and August respectively in order to carter for the increasing number of beneficiaries in the rural communities.

In his words, “ from our practical experiences, feedbacks and survey during our previous Medical Missions, we discovered that women population is astronomically increasing; this means that there is need for more intentional measures to be made towards the health and economic needs of the women population. So our Foundation’s Free Medical Missions represents the HEALTH while our Free Interest fund for Women Empowerment represents the WEALTH. We are committed to bringing the two to them because we understand the importance of Health and wealth in growing a prosperous society with women population in focus”, Dr Ofomata stressed.

It is worthy to note that the Marcel Ofomata Foundation undertakes other humanitarian programmes including academia scholarship up to university level, Youths Empowerment, Direct mentorship programmes in addition to the Free Medical Mission and Women Empowerment.
